Not Waiting Anymore

Today was the day! Little "baby boy" arrived early Sunday morning at 3:35 a.m. after many hours of labor and some worry. (He's the one at the bottom, not the top!)

After getting some one on one time with him, we decided to name him "Ian James." Not much time right now, more pictures soon!

still waiting

I had a Dr visit on Thursday...ZERO. 0% effaced and 0 centimeters dilated...ZERO.

I couldn't believe it! I'm usually at a 2 and 60-80% effaced at 37-38 weeks, so I was shocked. Well double shocked because I've also never had so many labor pains as I've had with this one. Last night I was up with hard contractions for 3 hours. But nothing consistent enough to make the run in. Instead I cleaned my kitchen (at 4am) and took a hot bath. Wow, these last weeks are so fun...Anyways, the Dr didn't want to risk inducing with the zero thing, so we're still waiting...

So (to keep busy) this morning I sewed a new blanket for the boy (yep, still no name). Chris' sister Kellie had a few of these blankets with Amy Butler fabrics on front. I loved them, and found one store here that sells her fabrics. I was so excited! Plus I made it for about half of what I'd pay for one on etsy (plus it has all my love {imperfections} in it!). And I had exactly enough left over fabric to make a cute little matching burp cloth...can't wait till I have a baby to swaddle and burp!!
We also made some yummy spring-time cookies...

{I've always wanted to take a picture of some food I've made...weird I know}

week in review

on Monday: Anna decided to be a clown...thank goodness it was a washable marker!
on Tuesday: Chris left for a conference in Florida...he bribed the kids with hopes of really cool toys if they were good for me while he was gone. And surprisingly it worked...I'd ask Everett to stop playing a video game and help with something...and he'd do it! It was awesome. I think we might need to get an incentive program going every week!
on Friday morning: Dad is home, kids waiting for their goods: big kids got awesome flashlights (compliments of some company's booth) Oh, he also brought them instant snow, and some wind up bird, and a stapler. But they really liked the flashlights!
Paul waiting for his present...a train, with Mickey Mouse as conductor...Dad knows what this kid likes!
on Sunday morning (after fully dressed for church): Paul falls head first into Everett's bath. (poor kid, I made him stand there in his sopping wet socks, cords, button down and cable knit sweater while I went and got the camera...don't you love blogs!)
on Sunday afternoon: After 4 inches of snow, the sun came blaring out followed by a rain storm...the kids didn't care, they kept playing in the snow/rain.
and finally...only 13 days till this baby is due. People have been asking for a belly shot, Anna took this one this morning...I can't wait for this baby to get here...and to get back in shape!

Robison visit

Chris' sister Kellie & family came for a visit this week. They are thinking about buying a dental practice up here, so they needed to come check the place out. We had lots of fun cousin time! And we'd love to have more if/when they move up here!
Here's a picture of a picnic outside...I think Paul thought it was a drive-thru
all 5 kids watching something funny on tv
a really cold pier somewhere in Southworth
