look what I did

The haircut was going great until the buzzer started to die. "just put some oil on it" Chris says. I do, and then continue to cut his hair...without the guard on! I didn't even notice there was a problem until I saw his white skin under the blade. Woops!!

Looking 17 with the braces and the buzz, but I'll take him! He's actually being sustained as YM president on Sunday...I guess he'll fit right in!

a deer

in our backyard! Earlier today Dionne told me how deer ate her garden and I wondered if we had any around here...well I guess we do. It was so beautiful, and even looked up at the window where Anna & Everett were looking out at it. Of course by the time I found my camera, turned it on, and got to the window, all that was left was the behind. Maybe next time I'll get a better pic. See if you can find it!

On Sunday I was telling my brother how "it's like living in a cabin" here. It really is, maybe that's why I was so drawn to this home. You look out and it is so beautiful! I've always thought cabins were the best, and now I kind of live in one!

Well, it was Everett's (real) 7th birthday! We had a lot of fun with Grandma Judy & Grandpa Thompson! Here's some pictures from the weekend.

"Any man can be a father. It takes someone special to be a dad."

I've been blessed to have been raised by a great dad! He's always cared enough about my life to give me council and advice (especially in my teenage years). He's generous and kind and has a big heart. He has to with 12 children and 38 grandchildren! He's a good man, and I'm proud to say he's my dad! Here's the reason Chris is such a great dad...his dad! And he's a fun Grandpa too! What can I say, I'm so glad that Chris is my children's daddy. They LOVE him! Anna said the other night how silly daddy is, he always makes them laugh. He's good to take time every day for them, even if it's laying in the hammock! Everett really looks up to him, and I'm glad. Chris is an awesome man, a worthy priesthood holder, and the love of my life!

~Thanks Dads~!

Point No Point

that's the name of the light house (or beach?)
There is a beach (with real sand) north of us. We decided to make the trek for FHE last night. It was really fun to see the kids playing on the beach. Paul immediately said "wa wa" (water) when we pulled up. It was cute. He didn't actually go toward the water until he saw his strong dad throw a huge drift wood into it. Then Paul picked up the smallest stick on the beach and went walking towards the water. He stopped about 5 feet short and threw it. It didn't make it into the wa wa, but it was cute to see him want to be like his dad. Here's some pictures from our adventure.

the boys

This is after I tripped and fell flat on my head. I was swinging Anna around (picture above) when Chris yelled "stop". In the process of slowing down a spin on a beach, I tripped over my feet. I thought it was something urgent, but he just couldn't get the motor or something to work on the camera. It kind of hurt. You got to see Anna's face and hands. (click to enlarge) She doesn't like getting dirty.

shadows

Anna came running inside yesterday yelling, "mom, quick get the camera". I ran outside to find her amazed at the shadow her kitty cat was making. I thought it odd, until I realized she hadn't seen a shadow in a week or so. There's another thing to put on the list of things we miss in Utah...our shadows! (although rumor has it, the sun will shine in Seattle during the summer:)
